MISSION • Why do we exist?
The Effie Anderson Smith Museum and Archive is a nonprofit art museum dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the artistic legacy of Arizona's earliest Impressionist desert landscape painter.
VISION • Desired Outcomes & Goals
Create a Permanent Gallery Home for the Effie Anderson Smith Art Collection and E. A. Smith Archive.
Promote an appreciation of the beauty of Arizona desert landscape art by E. A. Smith and other women desert painters of her era through exhibits and educational lectures.
Encourage individual exploration, discovery, and appreciation of desert art by children and adults through facilitating educational opportunities to develop technique in drawing and painting, and hands-on experiences in artistic expression - as Effie did with interested people of all ages.
Offer everyone a chance to have a lifetime of emotional and intellectual inspiration through the transformative power of Impressionist desert art.
